-ASHRAE PRESIDENTIAL VISIT-               Prof. Bjarne Olesen Ph.D.

 

The current ASHRAE President, Prof. Bjarne Olesen, Ph.D. staying true to his theme, “Extending our Community,” he focuses his theme on three directives: extend our global community; extend our technological horizons; and extend our value to members.  Prof. Olesen, a world-renowned expert in HVACS Systems, Radiant space heating, cooling and thermal comfort, has recently helped celebrate the grand opening of ASHRAE’s newest training center in Dubai and will be spending several days throughout October in Europe meeting with the Ireland chapter and newly formed sections from Scotland and England. Bjarne will be visiting ASHRAE’s Scotland section  Monday Oct. 9th, U.K. Midlands section Tuesday Oct. 10th and the Ireland chapter Tuesday Oct. 17th.

During his visit to Scotland Bjarne will spend the first half of his day touring Mitsubishi’s Livingston factory. After which he will join ASHRAE Scotland section members to attend the grand opening celebration of the Bouygues Energies and services new Motherwell office where he will enjoy a traditional Scottish performance from the award winning Falkirk junior gaelic choir and give a talk about his vision for the 2017-18 ASHRAE presidential term. As a newly formed section ASHRAE Scotland is excited to hear what Bjarne has planned for the future of our global community and how we can be involved.
